Hwy 211 Widening​

 

Braselton announced that GDOT "will begin clearing for a long awaited widening project... Hwy 211 in Braselton." (Main Street News, Jan. 11, 2023, "DOT to begin clearing for Hwy 211 widening project in next two weeks")

The proposed and now ongoing widening project in Braselton occurs in two phases (August 2025 update):

PHASE ONE - Est. Completion Date April 22, 2026

Phase One (PI #0013988) of this project affects Hwy 211 from I-85 to Pinot Noir Drive.  This graphic shows an overview of the roundabouts incorporated into the I-85 southbound exit ramps and Chateau Elan entrance.  This additional graphic shows an overview of the new traffic light at Pinot Noir Drive.

PHASE TWO - Est. "Let" date January 15, 2026 

Phase Two (PI #0016089) of this project affects Hwy 211 from Pinot Noir Drive to Hwy 347 / Friendship Road.  This graphic shows an overview of the entire Phase Two.​  (Note: The management let date is the date when a construction project is scheduled to be let for bidding, then construction to follow.)
